The UK government publish a list of Bank and Public Holidays for each of the United Kingdom (UK) nations. The notified dates for England and Wales are operated as non-banking days for the whole of the UK and the BACS services.
These dates are updated by SD Worx within the Calendar operation for utilising the SD Worx BACS approved Bureaux.
Employers may additional wish to apply these dates to other areas of the Payroll and HR solutions as they may be utilise for other purses such as holiday entitlements.
Please note that there is no statutory right to leave or pay in relation to Bank Holidays, however, contractual arrangements may exist between employers and employees which provide a contractual entitlement. Bank Holidays can be included within the Statutory Holiday minimum 5.6 paid weeks annual leave.
